From: Larry_Knecht1 Sent: 10/23/2005 12:38 AM Sudden death match, which I won on the first extra hole - whew. Rob and I battled it out on a nice breezy, sunny day at Autum Valley. My snap was nowhere to be found early on and I found myself 3 down with 3 holes to go. Rob was shooting a fine game. Then my luck turned around and I won the last 3 holes when Rob's luck went sour. All even after 18, so we went back to hole 1. I chipped in from the rough and Rob barely missed his putt. Great match Rob.
From: HittmanRob Sent: 10/23/2005 1:53 AM Ahh Larry, you missed the best of the story....Lar is correct when he went looking for Mr. Snappy and gave me all the slack that it should take to win a match...but somebody forgot to tell me it takes all 18 Rob... Shot of the match was Larry on 16...you know the 300YD dogleg over the trees...well Larry flops a D1 across the leg but catches a tree and is left with a blind shot from behind a tree....and then somehow he smacks an iron thru the trees and it rolls to within 7 feet of the pin...and this is not your regular pin...this baby is tucked in the back with the green sloping away....damn near impossible to get close even with a good fw lie.... Consequently, this amazing shot shook up Rob and he couldnt covert bird.... It was truly a wonderful match....just what would be expected on a fine challenging course with the graces of a fine marksman...thanks Lar for the ride and good luck against the Jughead.......My advice is to try and stay out of the trees though.
