Yamazaki developed skills with a knife and was given a machete as a gift from his father figure. When the mob was out making a deal with a rival gang they were deceived and Yamazaki's father figure was killed. That sparked the insanity inside him and he took out his machete and sliced apart everyone in the vicinity, blood splattering everywhere. Yamazaki then lived in the streets hunted as a criminal until the Jin brothers approached him one day which led him to Southtown. Yamazaki works for Geese during that time and investigates the Orochi case. The reason why Yamazaki has a grudge against Terry is because he destroyed his father figure's machete in their first encounter.
