Memento |
It is a shame when a movie of Good Will Hunting's quality goes down in the first round. But sadly, it is the case, as this 1997 drama ran into Memento on an early summer night. Patrik's Portland pad was th site of the matchup between these two epic dramas. Everyone on the judge's panel admitted that their decision was tough, but in the end, Memento was a clear winner. Tonight's guest judge, John Wilson, played an instrumental role in propelling this Christopher Nolan film into the second round. "There will always be another Good Will Hunting, but we may never come across another Memento." Of course, this quote refers to Memento's unique plot outline and its one-of-a-knd twist at the conclusion. We have no choice but to award the MVP to Guy Pierce for his portrayel of a man with short term memmory loss who is out to track down and kill his wife's rapist/murderer. This incredible movie will be a formidable foe for the winner of the "Shawshank/Squid&Whale" matchup. |
