American Beauty |
| Although the score wasn't close, Twelve Monkey's put up an admirable fight against American Beauty, the best movie of the tournament thus far. Twelve Monkey's interesting plot and strong performance by Brad Pitt kept it reasonably close throughout, but it was no match for the sheer dominance of American Beauty. Kevin Spacey returns with his second MVP performance of the tournament (also for Usual Suspects) and Annette Benning, Chris Cooper, and Thora Birch all gave outstanding performances, as well. American Beauty is an excellently acted, erotic drug comedy with great one-liners and a great murder scene. It plays the winner of Miller's Crossing and Magnolia next round. |
