Team America fired away Team Scotland in the first round led by Chaser William "Will" Shanahan. The powerful team from the United States Academy for Magic (USAM) steamrolled over Team Canada, their trio of Chasers scoring 100 goals in less then 10 minutes.
"We don't care much for the record," Chaser Maia Thotenca commented. "We wanted the 'W' in the win section and to move on to the next game."

Scotland took the loss well, considering that they are still a young team, thrown together at the last second.

A little history. USAM is part of a larger group of schools located in California. Three large Academies share an academic quad where they mingle as a group for classes. The three academies are the USAM (Girls and boys school), St. Elizabeth Academy for Girls (Girls only school), and Batten Academy for Boys (Team USA and all boys school). All three are taking part in the Honors Cup tournament.
