| Baseline-2 weathered several Cedartown runs to claim the 90-74 victory in the other SEBL City Conference Semi-final. Baseline went up early and behind the outside shooting of Jermaine Spivey and the inside play of Chri Jones and Marcus Henderson, took a 45-28 lead into the intermission. Cedartown fought back, as they stepped up their full-court pressure, igniting a 12-0 run and eventually cutting Baseline-2's lead down to 69-63. But, Baseline-2 settled back down, while Mikaiel Carter took over the scoring, downing 14 second half points on four treys, Marcus Henderson also stepped out of the post to drain a couple of threes and powered his way to two more, essentially putting Cedartown away down the stretch. Cedartown's Jay Nelson finished with a game-high 31 points, while Chris Careathers had 18 and Nagee Smith 14. For Baseline-2, Henderson paced the way with 21, as Carter and Jones each turned in 19, Spivey 17 and Antone Anderson 11. Jacob Selman rounded out the scoring for Baseline-2, with three points. Baseline-2 will try to unseat ServPro-2 from the Throne on Sunday afternoon at JH Morgan Gym in Cartersville. Tipoff is set for 4:30pm. |
