Good Old Days won the 2001 league championship by beating Valley Pizza 10-8 after losing 3-6 earlier. Good Old Days took advantage of a misplayed fly ball to the replacement right fielder filling in for starter Wayne Schaffer ,who was injured in the previous inning. Two runs scored on the play to put Good Old Days up 9-8. With a runner on third and two outs GOD's scored the insurance run and then put Valley away in the top of the seventh inning to win the championship. It was the teams second league title. Their first title was in the leagues first season in 1993 as Hornes Construction. |
