Metal Gear Solid |
| Metal Gear Solid did what is expected of it perenially in Showdowns, which is trash anything that gets in it's way. This time, things get a little tougher, as Final Fantasy Tactics comes in hot off a upset of Metroid Prime. That said, FFT is far from the most popular Final Fantasy around, and the most popular final fantasy could probably not beat MGS. Therefore, it would seem to be an easy call here. |

| Our 2005 champion enters with a 1 seed, of course. And when it wasn't winning the championship before 2005, it was finishing in the top 10 every time! MGS is still at the peak of popularity, and is very capable of going deep. Even if it is coming off a contest win. |
