| ServPro-2 had its hands full all night with BC Howren. Down 41-28 with 8-minutes left in the first half, ServPro finally woke up on eight consectutive points from Tim Askew. BC Howren was hot from the outside, combining for seven threes to that point. But, Serpro-s Askew hit a trey, then stole the inbounds in the corner, and promptly hit another three. On the next possession, Askew hit a short jumper and suddenly ServPro was back in it. Victor Saxton's lay-in gave ServPro-2 its first lead of the game - a lead they would never relinquish. BC Howren kept things interesting, never quitting in the second half, despite ServPro building a double-digit lead. Mike Howren hit a three with 45 second remaining in the game to trim the lead down to five, at 103-98. They had a chance to get closer, after two consecutive ServPro turnovers, but Howren and Mark Ezell both missed threes. ServPro's Rod Ashmore sank two freethrows with 15 seconds left, icing the win. Howren finished with 27 points, while Eric Jarvis had 21, Ezell 16, Carter Deems 14 and Chad Murry and Junior Gonzales 10 each. For ServPro, Ashmore led the way with 35 huge points, while Derek Carey had 26, Saxton 19 and Askew 11. ServPro-2 will now tangle with Summer Hill in the SEBL City Conference Final Four on Saturday at 3:00pm. |
