Hyperion possesses superhuman strength, stamina, speed and durability. He has matched such beings as Ultimate Thor in terms of strength and durability.[7] He also has greatly enhanced sensory perceptions, which extends to being able to perceive the entire electro-magnetic spectrum and "atomic vision" - the equivalent of heat vision. It can attain sufficient temperatures to disintegrate organic matter.[8] He is able to achieve speeds exceeding the sound barrier via running or flight and can achieve orbital velocity.[9] He has been seen to initially outmatch Ultimate Thor in reflexes, but was later overpowered by him when Thor fell him with a huge bolt of lighting and savagly beat him with Mjolnir.[10]
His durability is sufficient that he could survive a simultaneous ground zero detonation of 20 'daisy cutter' bombs, each with an explosive yield of 1 kiloton,[11] though with severe internal injuries. He is also sufficiently durable and strong that he was able to impact the ground from orbital heights to create an earthquake registered at a 10 on the Richter Scale.[12] |
