In a rematch of SB XXXIII, the Broncos battled Atlanta at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. Denver won that day, and today was no different. Terrell Davis had 131 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns as Denver, rolled 29-14.
Atlanta lead 8-7 at the half. But the 3rd quarter truly belonged to Denver. A Terrell Davis 25 yard TD run gave Denver a 15-8 lead. Rod Smith caught 1 of his 8 passes to give Denver a 22-8 lead.
Then in the 4th quarter, Davis rattled off another 4 yard run to seal it. Tony Martin caught a meanlingless touchdown pass to make the final score what it is. Martin did finish with 12 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Terrell Davis earned his second str. player of the game honor. Jamal Anderson only mustered 78 yards on 26 carries in this ball game.
Denver will meet the 1990 SF team that is passing up a storm. It will be a clash of styles as Denver loves to run TD, while the Niner perfer the air assult with Montana, Rice, Taylor, and Jones. It should be a dandy with the right to move on to the championship on the line. Good news for Denver. The game will be held at Mile High Stadium, Denver, Colorado!!! |
