Game Details

Date/Time: Tuesday, April 15, 2003
Location: Metrodome
Score: Vikings 43 Bills 0
Winner: 1998 Minnesota

Minnesota's defense came up big...again. This time the unit allowed 0 points. While, the offense lived up to its billing.

350 total yards, including a masterful performace by Vikings QB Randall Cunningham, 22-26, 250, 2 TD.
Randall was named Player of the game. Cris Carter had another stellar game, 9 receptions, 112 yards, 1 touchdown.

From the gate the Vikings were all over the Bills. Jumping out to a 10-0 lead. In the 2nd quarter, Robert Smith ran in a touchdown to make it 17-0. Then defense got involved in the scoring frenzy when Torrian Gray intercepted a Jim Kelly pass and took it the distance. Cunningham hit TE Greg DeLong with 4:36 to play in the 2nd. And the Vikings had a 31-0 lead going into the locker room.

In the 2nd half, the defense struck again, scoring a safety. That safety represented the only scoring of the quarter and the Vikings lead 33-0.

In the 4th, Gary Anderson drilled a 50 yard field goal and Robert Smith capped the scoring with a 2 yard run the Vikings fan began to chant "We want Denver"

In the Semis, the Vikings defense will have a diffcult test. Terrell Davis has been running all over everyone. Will he take home the MVP one more time, or will the Vikes defense shut him down.

We will find out soon enough.
