This game lived up its billing for sure. Randall Cunningham out classed Terrell Davis and the Vikings hold a spot in the championship game. Cunningham, MVP of the game. Threw for 312 yards, on 30 out 37 passes. Cris Carter caught 13 of the 30, while Randy Moss pulled in 6.

Davis, didn't have a bad night, 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. But it hasn't enough.

This game went back and forth. Rod Smith gave Denver a 7-0 lead after catching a John Elway pass. Andrew Glover tied the score on a pass from Randall. But Denver ended the 1st quarter with the lead as Terrell Davis took the ball and ran 45 yards to the endzone to give Denver a 14-7 lead.

In the 2nd, Minnesota struck late. After Leroy Hoard caught a 3 pass from Cunningham. The Minnesota defense caused a turnover and Randy Moss caught a pass for a touchdown with :01 left in the half. At the break Minny lead 21-14.

However, in the 3rd Denver would come back. Opening drive, Elway marches his troops down the field and Terrell Davis ends it with a 2 yard run, 21-21. Gary Anderson would score a field goal for the Vikings to give them a 3 point lead. But with :14 left in the 3rd, Elway hit Rod Smith for a 42 yard bomb to give Denver a 28-24 heading into the 4th.

But Denver, never scored again. Anderson would hit 3 more field goals, and he would help Minnesota secure a 33-28 win at the Metrodome and a place in the title game. Anderson was 4/4 in FG tries.
