This game was a massacre at a Mile High. Terrell Davis rushed for a game high 148 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Broncos pounded the Rams 44-13. The game was out of hand from the beginning as the Broncos jumped out to a 14-0 lead. The Rams got back in in it briefly with a Lawrence McCutcheon 73 yard run, but they missed the PAT. The Broncos came right back as Terell Davis took the ball 50 yards to the end zone and Denver finished the quarter leading 21-6. The Rams would score to start the 2nd. To cut the lead to 21-13. But they would never score again. And Denver moved on the next round easily.
Terrell Davis also added a touchdown though the air and was named player of the game. John Elway also though 3 touchdown passes to go along with his 257 yards of passing.
Ram QB James Harris tossed 5 picks and only completed 16 of 39 passes. Lawrence McCutcheon had 118 on only 11 carries, but the Rams couldn't use him enough. |
