A four star beer steve drank with his lovely wife, wife's sister, and wife's sister's husband in Madison at Brasserie V on 12/20/2009. This was a pit stop en route home from heading to South Dakota for the weekend to drink my 50th different state beer of 2009.
Contemporaneous comment: "Malty, sweet, banana- bubble gum in a quite good way. A lovely Christmas brew. 4 stars."

A four star beer steve drank to kick off a lovely evening at 5809 on 5/22/2009. The yard work was done, the bon fire had just got started, various friends were in route, and steve had multiple fancy beers in boxes to look forward to - the makings for a fine early summer evening if ever there was one.
Contemporaneous comment: "A thoroughly enjoyable, albiet unusual, beer for working in the yard. Kind of like a light barleywine I suppose. 4 stars."
