bayder (Allies) defeats hammond (Axis, bid 9) by surrender in round 6, first turn played pbem with the remainder played online
Round one played out fairly normally as both sides made standard moves with standard combat results. In round two, Germany sent a naked transport to attack the Allied stack in Alg, along with all 6 air units and Afrikan ground units. The Allied stack was destroyed, but it cost Germany their bomber and a fighter. With the Luftwaffe in France, Germany was able to hold the western coast, but it allowed a combined UK and Russia to stack Kar. In Asia, Japan went with 2 early IC's, then added a 3rd, and were able to stack Per early with tanks. But, Russia pulled back, forcing Japan to retreat from Per. Allies then stack Per, and Japan made an expensive attack on it, costing them all of their air power.
The coup de grace was a combined USA naval and air attack on Japan's fleet in sz34 after the Suez had been opened and held. Thanks to hammond for another fun, fast-paced game! |
