Gene & Andy of the Miami 7NO Bid Whist Club won 2 of 3 games in the Preliminary Rounds, they then swept through the "Sweet 16" Playoffs to take the 2005 Tampa Friday Night Special Championship. Gene & Andy were past winners of the $10,000 Budweiser Tallahassee tournament.

The Friday Night Special was part of the Bicycle Playing Cards
 Tampa Bid Whist Weekend  held May 20-21, 2005.
